Lookie whut I made

I’ve never really liked baby booties. Something about their construction, the tightness of the cuff. When I found these in the book Adorable Knits for Tots. I immediately wanted to knit them, but didn’t have any small girl babies to knit for. I also didn’t have any clue what to do with this yarn I had dyed at Silk Retreat back in 2010. The challenge from Tina Newton of Blue Moon Fiber Arts was to find a way to make these two colors palatable for me (purple and orange). While I didn’t succeed in making anything I would have used for myself, it’s perfect for BABIES!

Hey folks, the whole month of April passed by in one big fat blur. I did get some nice ka-nitting in. While it’s actually been Spring some other places, here in Portland we’ve had only the extra light at the beginning and end of the days to tell us so. My projects adapted accordingly, I present Myra from Blue Moon. A pattern I met at Silk Retreat July of 2010 and have lusted after since. When I saw the pattern in the most recent Twist Collective I went straight out and bought it, and then fished through stash for something suitable to knit it with.

The tulips were from a March of Dimes fundraiser, but they seemed to fit with the theme.
